This will be a combined scientific meeting of three societies: the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac & Thoracic Surgeons (ANZSCTS), the Cardiac Thoracic Vascular Perfusion Special Interest Group (CTVP SIG – ACE), and the Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP). In 2022 our Symposium will be held with the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) 2022 Workshop. Our patients present increasingly complex problems requiring fully integrated team care involving many disciplines, including surgeons, anaesthetists, and perfusionists. The need for scientific understanding to support our practice continues to grow and innovative procedural solutions are part of our daily work. This Symposium will aim to bring these specialty disciplines together to improve care of our patients in 2022 and beyond.A distinguished international and local faculty will be actively involved in all aspects of the program including:
- Lectures
- Multi-disciplinary panel discussions
- Workshops
- Simulations
- Hands-on wetlabs
The scientific program will be diverse and cater to all interests across the entire spectrum of contemporary Cardiothoracic practice. Combining with the ISMICS Workshop enhances this wonderful opportunity with colleagues from all over the world coming together to share their experience with new minimally invasive techniques and learn from each other in an open and inclusive forum.
The 3SCTS 2022 will, for the first time, provide everyone involved in the management and treatment of cardiac and thoracic patients the opportunity to come together. 3SCTS 2022 will be an excellent forum for the exchange of views, shared experiences and the latest scientific knowledge; enriching collaboration between surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists, and industry as well as providing opportunities for networking and the building of relationships internationally.
